In team events, the Zimbabwe men’s side came third with eight points, four behind winners and hosts Uganda, while South Africa were second with nine points. Zambia were fourth with six points and Kenya emerged last with four points.

In the ladies section, Uganda were again tops with 10 points, followed by South Africa with eight points and Zimbabwe on six points.

Zimbabwe Ladies’ captain Christine Sengwe was knocked out in the last session by South Africa’s Tasneem Solomons, who beat her 3-0, while the duo of Tariro Vhondo and Abigail Sendi also lost by identical 1-3 scores to Ugandans Justine Nampeenwa and Rose Namugerwa respectively.

Priscilla Lunga was the best performing Zimbabwean lady, losing 1-3 in the quarter-finals to Namugerwa.
