The Return Of Tshuma

Having missed on Zimbabwe’s campaign in Hong Kong at the end of last year and also not being part of the Sables in tier opener against Kenya two weeks ago, United States-based Lungile Tshuma feels “good to be back”.

“It is always good to be back home, good to be around the boys. The vive here is very lively,” said the fullback.

Scrummy Hilton Mudariki, flanker Njabulo Ndlovu, Keith Murray, Peiter Joubert are some of the players that have also joined the Sables to make changes from the side that face Kenya a fortnight ago.

The 61-15 defeat to Kenya is something that Tshuma feels the Sables should not concentrate on ahead of Uganda on Saturday at the Police Grounds.

“I believe there is still a lot to play for because the fact that we will be donning the national colours means we have to play with pride in our hearts and forget all the happened in the previous game.

“We have to build a winning attitude and we hope we can only learn from it. As athletes we have to give our best for Zimbabwe and have to have a positive attitude and not think about losing,” added the former Young Sables fullback.

While he is making his first appearance for the Sables this year, the Lindenwood College back-liner says he has learnt a lot in his short stint in the United States where he is playing for Aspen Rugby Club but hints he might be interested in trying American football

“I am happy that playing in America has made me become more dynamic, I am at one of the best rugby playing colleges in the States we are the third best side so there are a lot of eyes looking at us so we have to keep our standard of game up.

“There now is a pro-rugby league in the States and there is good money there. I am not rally considering a move but there also is good money in American football,” said Tshuma.
