LIVE SPORTSDAY: India Win Series
26.5 and that four brings uis to the end of the second ODI between India (who win it with a match to go) and Zimbabwe. 2-9 for now and it is difficlt to tell if the hosts will pull one back here. India win by eight wickets and that is it from Harare Sports Club. India 129/2 in 26.5 overs win by 8 wickets (with 139 balls to spare)
26.4 OUT Nair is trapped lbw by Sikanda and the umpire gives it. Nair lbw b Sikandar Raza 39 (68b 5x4 0x6). India 125/2
India require another 3 runs with 9 wickets and 24.0 overs remaining
24.5 Rayudu 36, Nair 37 India 118/1 (24.3 ov) require another 9 runs with 9 wickets and 25.3 overs remaining
21.5 Rayudu gets a single off a Chigumbura delivery and that brings up India’s 100. India 100/1
Zimbabwe's score at the end of 25th over was 106/3. But before the 35th over got completed, they got all out at the score of 126, which translates to seven wickets for 20 runs
Over the last 10 ODIs against India, Zimbabwe does not have a fifty-run opening stands. Zimbabwe's first wicket has averaged just 16.8 in those ten innings.
14.4 OUT Rahul takes that long walk back to the pavilion. It was an iside egde (33 off 50 4X4) off Chibhabha and that is the first wicket for the hosts India 58/1. Pretty much an unimpressibe show by Zimbabwe sinking to one of their lows here
The boys are back on the field now, Nair defending the city end and Chibhabha comes to attack
13.0 India 48/0 at lunch after 13 overs. Nair 21 off 36, Rahul 25 off 43. The duo have made a steady start to their run chase. Needing 79 runs to win India have 10 wickets and 37 overs to their saide. It is, however, looking highly unlikely that Zimabawe will get a wicket. At this stage Zimbabwe were 47/3
10.0 42 runs to the tourists, Zimbabwe bolwers strugling to break the opening partnership of Nair and Rahul
8.0 India require another 90 runs with 10 wickets and 42.0 overs remaining. Nair 15 off 25 with three fours and Rahl 20 off 24 with four fours. India 37/0
A number of fans here at Harare Sports Club calling for better results. Surely not many fans here to watch the game but the few that are here expressing their concerns. They say they want "Sir Wicknell" to help the Chevrons. But clearly this is not a money issue. If ZC are looking at paying at least US$400 000 for the dismissal of Dav Whatmore just before this series, then its not about money! Misplaced concerns.
4.4 Chatara feels he has got the wicket of Nair (10 off 12). Check for a no-ball and reviews show his foot was over the line.
3.0 after three overs India are 13/0 Nair 6, Rahul 7 and the required run rate for the Indians is just 2.42 and they are going at 4.33
India are in to bat.
What a collapse for Zimbabwe. . . From 106/3 to 126/9; 20 runs six wickets. ZImbabwe all out for 126 after 34.3 overs
Chahal has bowled two maidens so far - his 5th and 6th over of the innings. In the first 4 overs, he had conceded 25 runs without any wicket. He took 3 wicket in those 2 maiden overs.
31.4 OUT Zimbabwe are nine down effectively since Williams has been ruled out due to a figure injury he suffered early on during the war-up. Chatara b Kulkarni 2 (6b 0x4 0x6) Zimbabwe 115/8
30.2. OUT Mutumbami. Zimbabwe has lost four wickets in the last four overs adding just 12 runs during that period, its only geting tough for the hosts here, looks like we are going to have another early day. Mutumbami c †Dhoni b Bumrah 2 (14b 0x4 0x6) Zimbabwe 112/7
Harare Sports Club is virtually empty one can actualy count the number of people here to watch the game. I got 56
27.4 It did not have to end this way. This is a vry poor shot from Sibanda and he gifts Chahal with a wicket after he was caught at long-on. Pretty much the same way that Raza went out. V Sibanda c Jadhav b Chahal 53 (69b 6x4 1x6)
13.61 has been Sibanda's average against India in ODIs and SR of 50.86, before this match. In 13 innings, just once he scored 50+. Today he reached 50 in 58 balls
25.4 Mutumbami under pressure here as he faces the hat-trick ball. Chahal just forced Raza and Chigumbura back with his last two deliveries and he has set-up two slips to try and force Mutumbami into an error, but he survives that. Zimbabwe 106/5.
Sean Williams will not be able to bat, he will not be able to bowl as well. He has been injured on the fingure during warm up and that surely is sad new for Zimbabwe
25.3 Just before he settles Chigumbura goes off without a run to his name. Chahal strikes again and Zimbabwe are 106/5. Chigumbura lbw b Chahal 0 (1b 0x4 0x6)
25.2 Raza(16 off 41) is caught at long on byJadhav and departs off the bowling of Chahal breaking the 67-run partnership with Sibanda. Raza c Jadhav b Chahal 16 (41b 1x4 0x6)
21.4 Sibanda (40 off 45 with four fours and a six) is inching closer to his 21st ODI half century. A nervy period for the him here. He is one guy who either goes out just before he gets that milestone and if you let hjim get to that, surely he will destroy you.He has just hit another four but he is not rotating the strike as much.
17.5 Vusi Sibanda clears the boundary and that is the first SIX of the day off Chahal over long on. AT first it seemed the ball did not have enough flight to clear but that proved good enough to give Sibanda a bit of confidence. He seems to have settled though anf with Raza, te partnership is slowly building up. Zimbabwe 74/3
"Mehluli Sibanda, a journalist from Bulawayo predicts that Zimbabwe can get up to 200 today: "The boys are definately looking better today."
India are unchanged for this game and after winnig the toss MS Dhoni says: "Pacers will get help right through the day. It's quite cold too, so yes," he says with a big smile. "It's a tough wicket, it won't be easy to freely rotate strike here." Graeme Cremer says he would have bowled first too. "Coin's a bit lopsided," he laughs. "There's less grass, but it'll still do a bit this morning."
14.6 This has been ZImbabwe's best over so far no doubt, Sibanda getting 10 runs off Bumrah. Two fours and a double for the Zimbabwean the other coming on as an extra
9.6 With the las delivery of the 10th over after facing 26 with 21 runs that include a four to his name Chibhabha, like Moore in the previous wicket, is trapped lbw.Kulkami is responsible for this and Zimbabwe are 39/3. It isn't getting any better for Zimbabwe
The clouds have started to breakup and the sun is peeping through, a bit of sunshine would motivate the Chevrons faithfuls to come and give a bit of backing to their boys. Ooow, but just when we thought the sun would shine for Zimbabwe, Chibhabha gives away and that is another wicket down.
6.2 India got an early breakthrough, Sran accounting for Masakadza (9) who did not have a kind of stay he was looking forwarc to having at the crease. Bumrah was at the end of it to take a rather easy catch and Azimbabwe were 20/1 ter just 4.3 overs.
Joining Chibaba at the crease was Moore. He only faced nine deliveries, got a single run and Sran trapped him. 21/2 after just 6.2 oversA rather chilli weather in Harare, PJ Moore has just departed as well trapped lbw just moments fter Hamilton masakadza was caught off a wide and full delivery both batsmen departing off the bowling of Sran. India won the toss and opted to put the hosts in to bat.
