I’m Not Here to Decorate Beitbridge: Masomere

Luke Masomere says he is not at Border Strikers to decorate Beitbridge town but to weave his magic and help the team remain in the premiership for at least another season.

The self ordained doctor of local football said he has what it takes to guide Border Strikers to survive relegation despite being at the bottom of the log standings, six points away from the safer team Mutare City, with only six round of matches left.

“I am not here to decorate the town, I am here to work. I am very much positive about avoiding relegation. I know what I am capable of doing and that’s why I am very confident that i will take the team to a safer place,” said Masomere.

“We just need to keep ourselves focused and keep believing that it’s possible because we just need to collect maximum points in the remaining fixtures and catch up with those teams that are closer to safety. I now know the team and the players now understand my philosophy, so everything is set for us to achieve our target which is to survive,” added Masomere.

Masomere held log leaders FC Platinum to a goalless draw in his first league assignment at Border Strikers after taking over from caretaker coach Never Malunga. Border Strikers are away to Hwange on Sunday and a lose, will see them being relegated.
