The gala caters for five age groups from Under 9s to Under 13s with boys and girls competing in separate categories.
The schools participated in breast stroke, butterfly, freestyle and backstroke and there were 25X4 for the Under 9s and Under 10s, and 50X4 relays for Under 11s up to Under 13s.
One of the event organisers, Zechariah Chipunza who is the assistant sports director said, “This year’s gala was an improvement from the previous gala as it witnessed the battle of the best young swimmers in the country.
“Some records were broken and most of them were broken by swimmers from Eaglesvale.
“The good thing about this gala is that we had the top swimmers in the country and it was surely a good thing for them to set the standards.”
The gala was attended by hundreds of parents and students who came to support the swimmers.
