Gweru Hosts Carling Black Label Pool Finals

The Carling Black Label national pool finals will be held in Gweru this weekend.

Delta Beverages marketing manager Patricia Murambinda said in a statement that 175 players will take part in the event which will be hosted at the Barn Sports Bar in the Gweru city centre.

“Carling Black Label National Pool Championship has so far been the largest pool tournament. Over 2000 pool players have participated in the regional competitions this year, an increase of about 700 players compared to last year,” Murambinda said.

“Delta Beverages, through its Carling Black Label brand has contributed tremendously to the development of pool in Zimbabwe. We have players who have benefited immensely from this marriage with pool.

Delta’s vision to enhance sport and culture in the country is well partnered by the objectives of the national association and the players or supporters at large.”

“It is a win-win game for the Carling Black Label drinkers as they enjoy big value for their money and entertainment. It is a smart source of income for quality players. We have no doubt that local talent is being afforded the chance for dreams as masters of the game to come to fruition.”

The competition has increased this year with 24 regional areas hosting finals up from last year’s 10 with a total of 150 players qualifying for the men’s finals and 25 in the women’s category.
