DeMbare's Derby Delight Ends Six Match Barren Spell

Lloyd Mutasa was elated after ending a six match winless streak with a 2-1 triumph over cross town rivals Harare City at Rufaro stadium.

“This is a huge relief because going for six matches without a win at a club like Dynamos is not easy. Credit should go to the youngsters for turning up today and put up a good show and gives us somewhere to build from,” said Mutasa.

Denver Mukamba who was frozen out of the last match against Bulawayo for misdemeanour returned in style scoring a beautiful volley past Maxwell Nyamupanedengu in the 57th minute after getting the better of Arnold Chivheya. But Jerry Chipangura one of the youngsters trusted by Moses Chunga equalised some minutes later capitalizing from a blunder by anchorman Stephen Alimenda who was also making a return after being left out last weekend.
 
However Dynamos were given a lifeline they badly needed when Chivheya impeded Brett Amidu inside the box eight minutes from fulltime. Ocean Mushure took the responsibility sending Nyamupanedengu the wrong from the penalty spot.

Despite the defeat, Chunga was impressed by his team’s performance especially the young players.

“We might have lost but I was impressed by the way we played. The youngsters are playing well and I am really impressed with their display,” said Chunga.

The win saw Dynamos return to fourth position on a day their fiercest cross town rivals Caps United were humiliated 3-1 by Bulawayo City at Barbourfields stadium. Trevor Ndlovu grabbed a brace while Mkukhuli Moyo weighed in with the other goal to give interim coach Try Ncube his first share of maximum points. Devon Chafa scored the consolation for Caps United in optional time.

Tonderai Ndiraya is slowly losing the momentum he started with at Ngezi Platinum registering his second consecutive defeat, losing 2-0 to basement side Border Strikers. Clever Matendebure and Kalunga Tambwe scored in each stanza while their goalkeeper Talent Sande was in impressive form saving a penalty in the second half.

Thabani Goredema handed 10-men Chicken Inn a victory over struggling Tsholotsho with a solitary strike in a match that veteran striker Obadiah Tarumbwa was send off for rough play.
