
DeJong Misses Honda Classic Cut
Brendon de Jonge missed his second successive cut at the Honda Classic after he carded five-over in two rounds in the USPGA Tour.
However, the Zimbabwean trio of Scott Vincent, Mark Williams and Ryan Cairns all finished in the top 10 of the Eye of Africa PGA Championships at the Eye of Africa Golf Estate in Johannesburg, leaving an impression at the South African tourney.
Zimbabwe-born Dean Burmester finished as the runner-up after a sudden death play-off for the title with Jaco Van Zly.
After finishing tied on 20-under, Burmester hit his approach on the 18th, in the play-off, into a greenside bunker, and he was only able to get it out to about 30 feet from the hole.
Van Zyl was on the green for two at a similar distance, and he made no mistake with two putts to claim the title.
Scott Vincent finished tied for fourth place with Dylan Frittelli while Williams was two strokes behind in sixth place on 12-under while Vincent who came to the event through an invite after he recently got his Asian Tour card shot 68, 70, 66 and 70 walked home R55 790.
Williams had rounds of 70, 67, 71 and 68 to pick R32 040 after Greg Bentley missed the cut as Ryan Cairns finished a distant 43rd place with rounds of 74, 68, 73 and 72.
