Coventry Does It Again

Kirsty Coventry does it once again taking gold in the 200M individual medley final with an outstanding time of 2’16.05 on Thursday at Congo, Brazzaville.
She has already claimed gold in the 2007 and 2011 edition of these games and this year would be a third for Coventry.
Coventry holds the 100m backstroke All African Games record with her 1:00.86 performance from 2011 games, and also still sits as the 200m record-holder in 2:10.66.
But, the 31 year-old doesn’t stop there. She currently holds the 200m IM record with 2:13.02 in 2007.
Kirsty is living up to all the expectations as she gets Zimbabwe’s second Gold at the African games, her time has been gradually improving from the heats to the finals.
On Tuesday Kirsty clocked in 1’02. 20 in the heats stages and had a one second improvement in the final clocking in 1’01. 15.
On Thursday from 2’18.64 in the heat stages, improving by two seconds to make 2’16.05.
Coventry has faced a lot of criticism for being too old for swimming, but yet again she has proven her critics wrong.
Coventry is not the only racking in medals from the swimming team, the 4×100 medley relay came in third scoping bronze for Zimbabwe with a time of 4’00.78.
