Chicken Inn Trio Face PSL Sanction

Chicken Inn secretary Tavengwa Hara and Coach Rahman Gumbo will appear before a PSL disciplinary committee for violating the league’s statutes.

Hara and Gumbo together with striker Obadiah Tarumbwa are accused of allegedly threatening referee Thomas Masaa after a match in which Chicken Inn lost 1-0 to FC Platinum in July.

According to the referee’s report, the trio threatened him and also accused him of bribery.

“After the final whistle, MR Rahman Gumbo the Chicken Inn coach claimed that the referee was paid by FC Platinum. Mr Tavengwa Hara said he is pay master and he said he was not going to pay us the match fee to show his anger which he did,” wrote Masaa.

“He further said that, that was my last game of the season as he has more powers to do so as he sits in the ZIFA board. He used unprintable words which I cannot repeat.”

Masaa also stated that Tarumbwa threatened to beat him up.

“Tarumbwa Obadiah, a Chicken Inn player, said he will beat me up as he fears no one to show that he was not happy with my officiating.”
