CBC and Chisipite senior top schools in swimming
The schools swimming season is well on its way with the elite schools battling it out for the top place in schools swimming.
Les Brown played host to the National A-Devisio boys gala which was held on Friday 2 October and Christian Brothers College hailled supreme at the end of the day.
It was the collective effort from the whole team to carry CBC through the relay gala. Of the 20 relay races that were swum on the day, CBC recorded seven wins and an equal number of second place finisheswhich kept putting the team ahead.
Crowd favourites St Johns and St Georgs who came in second and third, were also cotending for the title but could not out swim the boys from CBC.
Hellenic came in fourth, Peterhouse Boys in fifth, Prince Edward finishing sixth and Kutama College who finished seventh.
Eaglesvale had been promoted to A-Devision after agood swimmig season lst year but failed to make their debut perfomance and where relegated out of the top group of schools.
For the ladies Chisipite Senior School’s A team won the inter schools gala held at Arrundale School on the 3rd of October.
Chisipiti senior showed their swimming prowess during the tournamnet and finished as the ovarall winners of the tournamnet, taking the trophy with 310 points, a clear 42 point lead over second place finishers Peterhouse Girls who concluded with 272 points.
Dominican Convent, who have developed their swim program at the primary school with vigor over the past few years, came third with 215 points. Hellenic was narrowly in fourth with 211 points, with hosts Arundel fifth with 164 points and Gateway in sixth place with 52 points.
