Team Zimbabwe lost by a point to South Africa in the FBC Africa Region 5 Golf Championships which ended at Chapman Golf Club Thursday afternoon.

It was indeed a tense photo finish with Team Zimbabwe throwing everything from the garage at Continents Golfing Powerhouse - SA.

Such is their dominance that since 2000 they have been taking the Trophy and only in 2010 did Kenya pull the huge shiny trophy from their hands.

The flag lowering ceremony was done as per schedule late Thursday afternoon yesterday.

The players, officials and the guests then moved to Cresta Lodge where the Prize Giving Ceremony and Farewell Dinner was held.

Meanwhile Zimbabwe Open starts next week at Royal Harare with the Pro-AM’s where amateurs will get a rare opportunity to play alongside the local and international Professional golfers who will be hunting for the prestigious Zimbabwe Open 2018 Title.

The tournament proper starts from 19-22 April where the Professionals only will be on the tees.
