ZC Hunt For New Coach
Zimbabwe Cricket has started hunting for a new coach to replace Dav Whatmore who was fired more than three months ago.
Currently former South Africa bowler and bowling coach Makhaya Ntini is in charge of the side but his stint has not been with great success as well.
With the deadline for application set for September 9, it has not been clear if there are any foreign coaches that have indicated interest in leading the struggling Chevrons.
Whatmore was fired in May this year just before a series against India, with the ZC board indicating they were not happy with the results and thrust in his assistant Ntini who was in charge in the limited overs series against India in Harare and two home Tests against New Zealand in Bulawayo.
According to a release by the ZC, one of the main roles of the coach will be to focus on the new domestic cricket structure that has changed from a franchise-based format to a provincial-team form.
Zimbabwe's next scheduled series is against Sri Lanka at home in October-November, but the planned tour of two Tests, three ODIs and a T20I but West Indies could come in as the third team.
