Williams, Cairns Make Cut

RYAN Cairns and Mark Williams managed to make the cut at the R1.5-million Eye of Africa PGA Championship at Signature Golf Estate.

The duo were part of the 66 players who managed to reach the money spinning zone of the tournament. Cairns finished tied on position 31 togrther with Merrick Bremner, Orkie Strydom, and Francisco Laporta.

The Zimbabwean had rounds of 69, 72, 70 and 73 to pocket r12 300 for his efforts while Wiliams on the other hand pocketed R6 400 after scoring rounds of 68, 70, 73 and 78.Erik van Rooyen won the tournament after a three-way play-off on Sunday together with Dylan Frittelli and Makhetha Mazibuko, who narrowly missed a par-putt on 18 in regulation which would have given him the victory. Last year’s runner-up Dean Burmester finished fourth after a disappointing round.
