Tarisai Musakanda and Faraz Akram both scored half centuries as Rising Stars picked up their first win of the Pro50 Championship with five wicket win over Midlands Rhinos in a match played at Harare Sports Club on Sunday.

Rising Stars won the toss and elected to field first and handed List A debuts to three players, the pick of the lot being Tinashe Muchawaya who returned for 4-31 as Rhinos were bowled out for 218 in 48.4 overs.

Bothwell Chapungu’s 85 and Peter Moor’s 42 were the pick of the lot on a day Rhinos.

Apart from Musakanda (50*) and Faraz (56*) there were strong contributions from Taffy Mpariwa (42) and Tafadzwa Tsiga (34) as Rhinos chased down the total with 33 balls to spare.

With three losses already, Rhinos will find it extremely difficult to get into the final scheduled for next month.
