Masakadza In World Top 10

Batsman Hamilton Masakadza is the only Zimbabwean player in the top 10 of the latest ICC Cricket World Rankings released on Monday as he anchors the T20 (top 10) player rankings.

With 657 rating points to his name, Masakadza completes a top 10 that is led by India’s Virak KHoli (820), Aaron Finch (803) and Martin Guptill (754) who make up the top three.

England has two in the top 10 coming in the form of Joe Root at number five with 735 points while Alex Hales is two places below with 699 points to his name.

UAE’s Mohammad Shahzad with 674 points takes up position eight, West Indie’s Chris Gayle is 11 points better than Masakadza but just a place above.

Test Rankings

Onece again Zimbabwe’s highest is Hamilton Masakadza who is 41 on the Test rankings with 525 ratings – the same number of rating points as England’s and former Zimbabwe batsman Gary Balance who is 40.

Craig Ervine is 65 with 397 while the duo of Sikanda Raza Butt (391) and Regis Chakabva (397) are 68 and 68 respectively.

ODI Rankings

 

In the ODI rankings, none of the Zimbabwean batsmen are in the top 50 as highest placed Sean Williams is 51 with 533 rating points while Elton Chigumbura (56), Raza Butt (57) and Masakadza (509) are all in the top 60.
