LIVE CRICKET ACTION FROM HARARE SPORTS CLUB: INDIA LEVEL SERIES

India post a 10 wicket win (with 41 balls remianing) over ZImbabwe to level the three game series. This is also the first time they have won by such a margin in the T20The opening duo of Singh - with an unbeaten 52 off 40 with six fours and a six - and Rahul 47 off 40 with two fours and two sixes, did all the work for th tourists. Supported by an early good bowling performnce, the century stand beytween the two gave India an important victory which wil see both sides fighting for the all important win on Wednesday in the third and final T20 at the same venue.

Sran's figures in this match (4-10) become  the second-best by a bowler on his T20I debut. His figures are also the second-best by any Indian bowler in T20Is.

11.0 Nothing seems to be good enough to stop the Indians. A couple of dropped catches by Zimbabwe and that was just the lifeline the tourists need.  India require another 16 runs with 10 wickets and 54 balls remaining India 84-0

10.0 after 10 overs India are 74-0 and require another 26 with 60 balls to go. At this stage Zimbabwe were 52-4

7.4 A gifted SIX for Singh, punched out for a maximum. That brings up India's 50. What was meant to be a catch ends up as a six off a Chibhabha delivery. India 53-0

6.6 India are 45-0 and require another 55 from 13 overs Singh 21, Rahul 23.

Indai have made sure to get at least a boundary in each of the last three overs. The opening duo seems to have settled in well.

4.1 Singh is dropped off Madziva behind leg-square. there was no comminication between the two fielders who go on to collide and its a gift to India with the resultant shot getting a boundary.

2.0 Rahul 4 off 7 and Singh 2 off 5.  India 7-0.

The teams are back on the field now and Zimbabwe fielding. Opening the bowling for the hosts is Donald Tiripano while India open with the duo of Rahul and Singh

After 20 overs Zimbabwe are 99-9 and it pretty much looks an easy target for India who need a 100 to win this and level the series. An early crumble by the Zimbabwe top order there after Sran ripped through early. Sran finished with figures of 4-10 in his four overs and he was helped by the attack of Bumrah who latter in the innigs came in with a helpful 3-11 in his four.

Chibhabha was the first to go and left Zimbabwe on 14-1, before Masakadza, Raza and Mutombodzi walked back to the pavilion in the fifth over off the bowling of Sran. This made Sran only the second Indian to take two wickets in a single over in this format of the game. PJ Moore's stand of 31 off 32 with two fours and a six was the only nottable contributon from the Zimbabwe batting line-up.

The only other double figures came from Chibhabha, Masakadza, Waller and Tiripano but none of them were above 15 runs.

19.2 WICKET Cremer. Kulkarni's delivery is miscued by Cremer and the Zimbabwe captain is out after a Rayudu catch at mid-off Zimbabwe 91-9.

With each passing delivery getting to a 100 run mark getms more difficult for Zimbabwe. A very small crowd here at Harare SPorts Club. maybe a couple of hundred seated mostly at the Casle corner. Just seven days ago this was one stand that the fans abandoned demanding and protesting for  better results from the Chevrons. They got that on Saturday and that is the main reason the are cheering the home side. Song and dance could up-lift the boys especially at such times.

16.4 WICKET Madziva. Bumrah gets his second within this over, his third for the day. Madziva's off stump is uprooted. Zimbabwe 83-8

16.1 WICKET Chigumbura 8 (off 19 with a four) is clean bowled as Bumrah gets his second of the day. Not the kind of an outing the former captain was looking to have.  Zimbabwe 84-7

14.4 WICKET Moore (31; 32b 2x4 1x6)  is off. Variation being the key word here. Change of pace as Bumrah sends through a slower delivery that tricks More. With an extra bounce. Zimbabwe 75-6

If anything this sixth wicket partnership between Moore and Chigumbra should drive Zimbabwe to a respectible score. But there is a lot of pressure for the two given the way Zimbabwe crumbled to Sran. Obviously Chigumbura is looking at bettering his Saturday score of an unbeaten 50

13.4 Moore survives a scare as well. He has just been dropped by bowler  Chahal. There was all the time to take the catch, there was no need to panic or rush but Chahal drops the sitter.

PJ Moore  (28 off 27 with two fours and a six) all the same justifying his reason for being part of the side besides being included following an injury of Mutumbami. He has had quite a steady start.

11.1 WICKET Zimbabwe are sinking deeper in trouble. Having been dropped at zero, Waller  (14 off 20 with one four) walks out. He tries to get under it but does not get enough.  Zimbabwe 57-5

5.5 DROPPED Waller (0 off 5) is dropped and this is the second time he has been dropped in this series. Should have been an easy catch but he survives the scare

4.6 WICKET This is really looking bad for Zimbabwe as Sran Strikes again to trap Mutombodzi LBW. With an extra bounce Mutombidzi misses and the ball touches his pads and umoire Tiffin gives but does not look a good decision as it was way too high. Zimbabwe 28-4.

4.5 WICKET RAZA.  Sran is really enjoying his T20i debut because he has jst got his third wicket of the day and this is also his second in this over. Raza hits it not so well, and at gully Rahul gets the catch. Zimbabwe 28/3

4.2 WICKET Masakadza (10 off 12 2x4)is cleaned by Sran. The delivery with a bit of inward movement might have played a trick on Masakadza and the mid stump is uprooted . Zimbabwe 26/2

2.5 WICKET Chibhabha (10 off 11b 2x4) is the first one to go and debutant Sran has all the reason to celebrate after change of pace, opting for a slower delivery and Rayudu at mid-on takes the catch ZIMBABWE 14-1

India coach Sanjay believes Zimbabwe are going to have a difficult time facing these debutantes: "Dhawal Kulkarni and Barinder Sran were excellent in IPL this season where as Unadkat and Rishi Dhawan hardly played any. I don’t think Zimbabwe are going to score that much today."

For India Jaydev Unadkat and Rishi Dhawan have been left out for T20 debutants Dhawal Kulkarni and Barinder Sran. This will be the first time that India are opening with a bowling pair comprising of debutants – save for the first T20i they ever played.

Dhoni adds:”"We definitely need to give a lot of credit to the way they batted. Quite a few areas where we need to improve. In high-scoring games, all runs count. Two changes, Dhawal and Sran come in.”

"Looks like the same wicket, looking to put runs on the board. I don't think toss is too important. I still think 170 is a par score," said Graeme Cremer

Zimbabwe have won the toss and captain Cremer opts to bat again. Having batted Saturday and won, Cremer feels this is the best decision to go with. Peter Moore comes in for Mutumbamni who suffered a hip injury on Saturday.
