Alois Masamba who is the tournament organiser and director of Tanajane Investments said 20 players selected from the tournament will tour South Africa, Namibia and Botswana in April  next year as he wants to give the players exposure and experience to grow into quality  players.

“This tournament is now in its fifth year and the whole idea is to give a chance to the pupil in Matabeleland a chance to showcase his talent. Sport is now a big industry there kids should also be allowed to persue careers in sport in as much they pursue their academic goals,” said Masamba.

“Players went home with food hampers from this tournament because we want to show parents that their children can also contribute meaningfully at home if they are allowed to be nurtured well through sport.

"We have selected 20 players who will visit different schools and academies in neighbouring countries so that they get exposed to better environments. The whole idea is to make Matabeleland North province a force to reckon with in national cricket in a few years to come."

The tournament was also attended by the Midlands Cricket Association secretary-general John Makuwalo while Victoria Falls national cricket board member Elisha Kandi also graced the tournament.
