Sables Ready To Rumble

CAPE TOWN - The Zimbabwe senior national rugby side, the Sables, aim to equal their all-time record of six consecutive wins over Kenya when the two sides clash in their Africa Cup opener at Police Grounds on Saturday.

Zimbabwe’s first loss to Kenya was 14 years ago away in Nairobi and that was also the Sables first loss to Kenya in since their first meeting 21 years earlier.

And between 2002 and 2010 Zimbabwe have only won one of the five matches between the two rivals, Kenya winning the other four  but the Sables have never lost more than two consecutive matches against Kenya.

Since 2011, the Sables have not lost to Kenya and a win over the East Africans on Saturday would ensure the Sables level their all-time record of six consecutive victories over the Simbas who were in Brazil in preparation for the Africa Cup.
