Mane Scoops Liverpool Award
Sadio Mane has marked an emphatic first season on Merseyside by winning two of the major honours at Liverpool's end of season awards.
The pacey forward scooped both Players' Player of the Season and the prestigious Player of the Season accolade following a remarkable debut campaign with the Reds which could yet see him finish as the club's top goalscorer.
In winning Player of the Season, Mane pipped Brazilian team-mate Philippe Coutinho to the honour and denied the No 10 the chance to claim the title for a third consecutive year.
Mane's achievements are all the more impressive when it is considered that the former Southampton man has missed a large portion of Liverpool's season, both as a result of participation in the Africa Cup of Nations and also due to injury.
Giving a short speech after securing the honours Mane said: 'I just want to thank my team-mates and supporters for giving me this honour.
'It means so much to me. I feel at home at this club and in this city.
'My team-mates, the staff, the manager and the supporters have all made me feel so welcome since I joined the club.
'I have loved every minute of playing for Liverpool this season and can't wait to get back fit to help the team again,' Mane added.
Highly rated young duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ben Woodburn were also among the silverware, the former winning Young Player of the Season and the latter scooping Academy Player of the Season.
