Machazane In Emotional Tsholotsho Return

Kudzanayi Machazane makes an emotional return to Tsholotsho when Triangle play the Naughty Boys at Luveve stadium on Saturday. Machazane who made his name at Iziqolo ZeZhwane helping them into the premiership a couple of seasons ago, left at the start of 2016 for Bulawayo Chiefs before joining Triangle during the July transfer window.

Speaking to SportsZone ahead of the match, Machazane said it will be an emotional match for him as he has fond memories during his time with Tsholotsho.

“I enjoyed some precious moments with Tsholotsho including winning promotion into the premiership with them. I have made friends there and it was like a family with the players, coaches and the fans. So it will be emotional playing against them on Saturday,” said Machazane.

“But this is football, I had to move on because I needed a different environment to develop my career. I am now a Triangle player and have to do what helps Triangle’s cause.  Being signed during the mid-season shows that the club hired me for a purpose which is for them to finish the season at a respectable position and with something in their cabinet in terms of cup competitions.”

Machazane was touted as one of the future prospects after graduating from the Highlanders youth system together with the likes of Joel Ngodzo, Tendai Ndlovu, Honest Moyo and Welcome Ndiweni but his development was hampered by injuries.

Another Triangle player Donald Dzvinyai makes a return to the team that gave him premiership breakthrough after moving at the start of the season.

Tsholotsho coach Lizwe Sweswe is also looking forward to the match against his former stars.

“I am glad to see players that I help develop flourish. I worked with Machazane when the team was still in Division 1. I have seen him develop and it will be interesting to square up against him. But this is a match that I would like to win so that we collect maximum points and avoid relegation,” said Sweswe.
