Boost For Dynamos As Refs Committee Rescinds Ntouba Ban

Dynamos Cameroonian striker Christian Joel Eupopa Ntouba will play in Sunday's Harare Derby against CAPS United at Rufaro stadium after the Zimbabwe football Association Referees Committee rescinded the striker’s  87th minute sending off in a game against Highlanders last Sunday.

The on-fire striker, who is now the PSL leading scorer on 11 goals, was shown a straight red card by referee Arnold Ncube in the dying minutes of the game for head-butting Highlanders player Peter Muduhwa in an off the ball incident as DeMbare were preparing to take a corner.

The statement from the Zimbabwe football Association Referees Committee read:

The Zimbabwe football Association Referees Committee has rescinded the 87th minute sending off of Christian Joel Eupopa Ntouba during a Castle Lager Premier Soccer league match between Dynamos and Highlanders at Rufaro Stadium on 10 September 2017.

Referees Committee Chairperson, Dr Phillip Chiyangwa announced the decision following extensive deliberations with members of the referees’ committee and several important football stakeholder

With Dynamos preparing to take on CAPS United in a reshedulled castle lager premiership match, this will be a major boost for Dembare as Epoupa will be expected to carry on his fine form which saw him score a brace against CAPS a fortnight ago.
