REIGNING Junior Sportsperson of the Year golfer Danielle Bekker made her presents felt at the Eastern Province Ladies Open Championship held at Humewood Golf Club in Port Elizabeth at the weekend.

The Chapman based golfer was among several other players who tee off in the 36 holes played on Sunday finishing tied on position seven.

The 13-year-old top golfer had rounds of 77 and 77 for a six over off her three handicap.

Ionka Bekker spoke highly of her daughter who she said is now looking forward to Matebeleland Ladies Open Strokeplay at Bulawayo Country Club this coming weekend.

“Danielle now looks forward now to the Matabeleland Ladies Open Strokeplay at Bulawayo Country Club this coming weekend.She will also take part in the Harare Province Open Strokeplay during the first weekend of March before proceeding to the KwaZulu Natal Ladies Open Championship in Durban the following weekend,” said Bekker.

A total of 28 golfers took part in the tournament which was eventually won by Myeki Zethu of East London Golf Club and Telfer Kalegh of Wanderers Golf club on three under 143.
