Alimenda Offloaded Again
EX-Dynamos captain Stephen Alimenda will not be able to face his former team after he was transfer-listed by Triangle on the eve of the Sugar-Sugar boys' trip to Rufaro for Sunday's Premier Soccer League clash.
Alimenda, who joined the Lowveld outfit at the beginning of the season and had been made vice-captain at the club, could not survive the mid-season chop which claimed five players including midfielder Charles Mukanhairi and Tonisani Sibelo.
Junior players Tatenda Juwayeyi and Pride Mhlanga have also been released while veteran midfielder Hardlife Mavhundi has asked for clearance to greener pastures.
Triangle coach Taurayi Mangwiro said the team is looking sharper for the second half of the season with one of his new recruits from Division One side Karoi United, Ephinos Kamunda, making an instant impact with a goal in the 2-0 win over Chapungu on Thursday.
“We revisited the squad and of major concern was the average age of our team and performances by the players. We believe we still have depth because we are well represented for each and every position,” said Mangwiro.
