ZPSL Week 28 Predictions with Mugove Chigada

SportsZone Football pundit Mugove Chigada is back with another round of Castle lager PSL predictions.

Harare City v CAPS United (Rufaro)

HARARE City go into this match with nothing much to play for. They have said they are targeting a top four finish but the reality is that their season is as good as over. So far they have played the role of party spoilers, having derailed FC Platinum in a 2-1 victory at Rufaro. In CAPS United, they face a club targeting to remain on top of the log. Lloyd Chitembwe’s charges know that they simply have to win all their last three matches and be crowned champions. They will be under pressure against a team whose coach Moses Chunga begun the mind games early in the week, suggesting that there will be “cheers and tears”.

Prediction: CAPS United win

Ngezi Platinum v Hwange (Baobab)

Ngezi Platinum have been on a roll playing at Baobab and it is difficult to imagine Hwange successfully going against the grain. Both teams have survived relegation so far. However Ngezi Platinum cannot afford to lose the game and affect their confidence ahead of the Chibuku Super Cup next week.

Prediction: Ngezi Platinum win

Chapungu v FC Platinum (Ascot)

This in many ways is a grudge match. Early in the season Chapungu was beaten 1-0 at Mandava in a game they left dissatisfied. The Chapungu assistant coach was even suspended after claiming that FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza had influenced the outcome of the game. FC Platinum now come into the game desperate for three points to complete a double over their Midlands rivals. However they are missing the services of key players Winston Mhango, Charles Sibanda and Gerald Takwara.  FC Platinum have however done well whenever they make many changes to the team.

Prediction: FC Platinum win

Highlanders v Tsholotsho (Barbourfields)

Tsholotsho are looking for full points when they take on Highlanders at BF on Saturday. But the reality is that this is mission impossible. Highlanders may have bowed out of the Chibuku Super Cup but they will have a big say in this title race. Bosso have proved they can rise to the occasion and force a result, even in the last minutes of the game.

Prediction: Highlanders win

Border Strikers v Triangle (Dulivadzimu)

Triangle coach David Mandigora has an opportunity to try and impress his bosses in the last three games of the season. This is one match they must show that they are on another level. Border Strikers have already been relegated but coach Luke Masomere has stated that they will practice fair play. Of late, teams have found it difficult to win at Dulivadzimu.

Prediction: Draw

Dynamos v Mutare City (Rufaro)

Dynamos have largely disappointed their fans this year but they insist that a top four is a priority. In Mutare City they face one of the most difficult teams to play against at the moment. Taku Shariwa’s team must collect something at all cost as they try to survive relegation.

Prediction: Draw

How Mine v Chicken Inn (Luveve)

This will largely be a battle for bragging rights in Bulawayo.  How Mine have had a disappointing season. However on their day, they can force a result. Chicken Inn on the other hand have had a better second half of the season. In terms of quality of players, the two teams are more or less the same. This should be a balanced game.

Prediction: Draw

Bulawayo City v ZPC Kariba (Barbourfields)

Bulawayo City have done enough to ensure they are in the Premiership next season. They host ZPC Kariba in a game they have very little to play for. Sunday Chidzambwa’s charges on the other hand are targeting a top four finish. It will not be easy for them but chances are high they will get the result that they want.

Prediction: Draw
