ZPSL Week 26 Predictions With Mugove Chigada

SportsZone Football pundit Mugove Chigada is back with another round of Castle lager PSL predictions.

Ngezi Platinum v Tsholotsho (Baobab)

n

After suffering a 4-1 defeat in the Chibuku Super Cup, this is more of a re-match for Tsholotsho. The visitors however have a much bigger agenda than just revenge. They are fighting relegation. If they can win this game, they will be praying that their biggest rivals Mutare City drop points against How Mine.

However, Ngezi Platinum have been unstoppable at home. Chances are very highly Tsholotsho will again be humiliated at Baobab.

Prediction: Ngezi Platinum win

ZPC Kariba v Triangle (Nyamhunga)

tr

ZPC Kariba’s season is as good as over. They are out of the league race, they have been knocked out of the Chibuku Super Cup and if the Sup8r eight is confirmed, they don’t qualify. Their coach Sunday Chidzambwa has however indicated that the last five games are crucial for them to end the season among the top four.

They face a Triangle side who are in similar predicament. David Mandigora’s side will be playing the match after travelling one of the longest distance of the season – from Triangle to Kariba. Fatigue and the hot temperatures will get the better of them before they even enter the pitch.

Prediction: ZPC Kariba win

How Mine v Mutare City (Luveve)

This is a must win game for visitors Mutare City. They however face a How Mine side doing well at home. If Takura Shariwa’s charges can get full points at Luveve on Saturday, they would have completed a double over Kelvin Kaindu’s side. Kaindu has already indicated this week that he knows how strong their opponents are and they will be ready for them. Chances are this will be a much balanced match.

Prediction: A draw is likely while How Mine have an outside chance of winning the game.

Harare City v FC Platinum (Rufaro)

hre

Log leaders FC Platinum come face to face with a Harare City side capable of producing a result when cornered. There is no doubt Harare City will be playing without pressure while this is a must win for the visitors. City coach Moses Chunga has been clear about their targets, saying they must win games to try and finish among the top four. FC Platinum on the other hand risk losing top position if they drop points while close rivals CAPS United dismiss Border Strikers in the other game.

Prediction: Draw

Chapungu v Highlanders (Ascot)

b

Chapungu will have to be at their very best if they are to stop a Highlanders side who are on a rampage. Bosso coach Erol Akbay has been voted Coach of the Month for September mainly of the way they finished that month with four wins out of four. Bosso are away from their favourite hunting ground BF but they will throw everything at Chapungu to ensure they cover a four point gap between them and log leaders FC Platinum.

Prediction: Highlanders win

Bulawayo City v Chicken Inn (Barbourfields)

ch

Champions Chicken Inn have largely been inconsistent this season. They risk becoming the first defending champions in eight years to finish outside the top four. They have some of the best players at their disposal but coach Rahman Gumbo has pointed out that he is building a project for the future. In Bulawayo City they face a club capable of beating any club. Chances are this will be a balanced game although the Gamecocks could use their experience to get the better of their city rivals.

Prediction:  Chicken Inn win

Dynamos v Hwange (Rufaro)

de

Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa pointed out that though they are out of the race they have to win for their supporters. They face a Hwange side affected by players’ industrial action over outstanding salaries and sign on fees. Hwange rarely win at Rufaro against Dynamos and it is unlikely they will produce a miracle. DeMbare on the other hand are still trying to come to terms with confusion that rocked their board in the past weeks.

Prediction: Dynamos win

Border Strikers v CAPS United (Dulivadzimu)

keps

Border Strikers have pulled surprise results at Dulivhadzimu of late and CAPS United could be the latest victim. Lloyd Chitembwe’s side however look like they are a team that can push for at least a point even when things go terribly wrong. CAPS United, who are second on the log with 50 points, have a chance to go top of the log if they win while log leaders FC Platinum, who are on 51 points, drop points.

Prediction: Draw
