ZPC Kariba Burning…Chidzambwa & Msiska Reveal Details In Leaked Audio Recording

An audio recording with voices of Sunday Chidzambwa, Brenna Msiska and a third party having a conversation about problems at ZPC Kariba has been leaked on social media.

Chidzambwa, who is by far the most successful football coach in Zimbabwe dropped a bombshell at the end of September when he revealed he will quit his post as ZPC Kariba head coach at the end of the season.

The leaked audio recording has shed more light on why Chidzambwa announced his decision to part ways with the Kariba based side despite extending his contract last December.

The 65-year-old coach, who was hired in July 2015 to replace Saul Chaminuka with the mandate to transform ZPC into champions in the local league is heard on the recording telling the third party about the bad relationship between him and the club chairman Tungamirai Mazarire.

“The honest truth is this executive came out in the open saying we are not the ones who brought you to ZPC, we would want to appoint our own coaches.”

The executive according to audio, has also been pushing team manager Paul Chimalizeni and juniors coach Newton Chitewe to sabotage Chidzambwa.

The former Warriors coach who guided Dynamos to seven domestic league titles and a runners-up spot in the CAF Champions League in 1998 believes the current executive led by Mazarire don’t know anything about football and will only succeed in getting the team demoted from country’s top flight league.

“Hakuitike bhora kunoku…just give ZPC two years…” says Chidzambwa at some point in the conversation with the third party and Msiska.

The fractious relationship between Chidzambwa and the executive has also led to a bad spell for the team as they have gone for four consecutive games without a win and also getting out of the Chibuku Super Cup in the first round after losing to Shabanie Mine at home.
