
ZIFA Peg Fees For Warriors Match
The Zimbabwe Football Association has revealed the gate charges for the decisive second-leg qualifier of the African Nations Championship against Namibia at the National Sports Stadium on 23 July.
The cheapest ticket is pegged at $3 for the rest of the ground, $5 for bays 15-18, and $20 for for a seat in the VIP section, in a bid to attract as many fans as possible.
Zifa spokesperson, Xolisani Gwesela, said it is vital that fans come out in their numbers of cheer the Warriors to victory.
“We are calling upon all football lovers nationwide to come and cheer the Warriors to victory on Sunday.
“We have never failed to qualify for a CHAN tournament, and with the support from the fans, we believe we will progress to the next round.
“So, we appeal to everyone to spare an afternoon and rally behind the Warriors on Sunday,” Gwesela told ZIFA’s official website, www.zifa.org.zw.
Speaking on the importance of the tournament exclusively played by locally based players, the ZIFA spokesperson, who is also the Competitions Manager, had the following to say.
“We need them, the players need them and Zimbabwe as a whole needs the ‘twelfth man’ to urge the team on,” he added.
“This is an important match for the local players because it shows the strides taken in the development of local football.
Zimbabwe lost the reverse fixture 1 nil on 16 July, leaving the Warriors in need of a victory in the second leg.
Only a two-goal margin victory will secure Zimbabwe’s path to the third and final qualifying round.
