Yogi Targets Top Four Finish For Consolation

Triangle coach David 'Yogi' Mandigora has now set his sights on a top four finish in the league as a consolation for the quarter final exit from Chibuku Super Cup.

Triangle whose only silverware in the premiership is the Netone Cup won in 2014 , had set sights on winning the Chibuku Super Cup but once again came unstuck against FC Platinum after failing to beat them twice  in the league this year. Infact they last enjoyed victory over Platinum in 2013.

“We now have to focus on our next league match, which is against ZPC Kariba. We will try and see if we can finish in the top four," said Mandigora.

“At the end of the day, it wasn't our day. I think our guys played well, they were organised defensively and it’s unfortunate that we lost concentration towards the end and they capitalised."

Makai 'Jecha' Kawashu pounced with fourteen minutes to fulltime to see his side through to the semi finals.

At Barbourfields Stadium Highlanders beat How Mine 4-3 on penalties after the match had ended 1-1 in normal time.

Kuda Musharu struck the crossbar with his spot kick while former Highlanders keeper Munyaradzi Diya had his penalty kick saved by Arial Sibanda.

Highlanders had taken the lead in regulation time through Simon Munawa who scored in the 14th minute of the game while How Mine substitute Godfrey Nguwodzawo scored the equaliser in the 36th minute.

The results mean FC Platinum and Highlanders join Ngezi Platinum and Harare City in the semi-finals of the tournament.
