DYNAMOS new signing Emmanuel Mandiranga made a strong statement after his great performance against Highlanders on Tuesday.

He was a marvel to watch and with a bit of luck he could have scored in the Uhuru Cup final.

Bosso forced a 1-1 draw in normal time before DeMbare won 3-2 on penalties.

Going into the new season, Denver Mukamba was the tried and tested player but it will now be interesting to see who will be DeMbare’s talisman in the 2017 season.

Coach Lloyd Mutasa says no one will be given a place in the team based on past greatness.

“We have a large squad and we try to manage things properly. We look at how the players train and after that we can tell who deserves to be in the team,” said Mutasa.

“We believe you play in the same way you train so everyone has to put up a fight to get a place in the team,” he said.

Mukamba who is no longer the same player he was when he was crowned Soccer Star of the Year in 2012, has shown flashes of brilliance so far.

But that has done little to inspire DeMbare who have had poor start to the league campaign.

He was pulled out in the Uhuru semi-final against CAPS United due to a strained muscle and played no part in the final against Highlanders.

Mutasa added: “We will be waiting to hear what the medical team says about Denver tomorrow (today) but as things stand, we do not think he will be available for the Hwange game.

“Maybe we can begin to consider him for the other game. We will have players capable of fighting for the team.”

Mandiranga is already on record saying he still has a lot to learn if he is to reach his full potential.

Mukamba on the other hand has vowed to fight back to the top and of late he seemed to be trying much to cover up for his other teammates’ weaknesses.
