Week 20 Premiership Predictions With Mugove Chigada
The Castle Lager Premiership enters Week 20 this weekend with a full round of fixtures on Saturday and Sunday.
Chicken Inn DDLDD
v
Tsholotsho LWLDL
Chicken Inn will be hoping to bounce back after being frustrated in their last game. The Gamecocks were unhappy with the way their Highlanders match was handled, a game that degenerated into violence after the final whistle. The champions have not been bad but results have just not been coming. Tsholotsho are certainly not at their best this season but they are team that can easily pull surprises
PREDICTION: Chicken Inn win
ZPC Kariba LDDDW
v
Highlanders DWLLD
Sunday Chidzambwa's ZPC finally remembered how to win again against Chapungu last week. They are another example of team doing everything well but simply failing to get the result they need. Highlanders on the other hand have been struggling to bounce back to winning ways. It will be very difficult for them to try and get a result at Nyamhunga.
PREDICTION: ZPC Kariba win
How Mine DWDWW
v
Chapungu LWWDL
Kelvin Kaindu’s How Mine seem to be back on track and it is very difficult to imagine how Chapungu can stop them. Chapungu have been doing well of late but they are coming from a 1-0 defeat to ZPC Kariba. How Mine and Chapungu will be a tricky match for both teams.
PREDICTION: How Mine will win the game while Chapungu have an outside chance picking a point.
Dynamos DDDLD
v
Harare City WDWLW
This will be a battle in many areas. Harare City’s Moses Chunga will try to prove a point against a team that gave him a name, Dynamos. On the other hand Lloyd Mutasa will be eager to complete a double over a coach who once coached him. Star player Ronald Chitiyo crossed the floor at the beginning of the season and he may want to remind DeMbare what they are missing.
PREDICTION: Dynamos will win while there is an outside chance they will draw.
Bulawayo City WLWDD
v
CAPS United WLWDD
Bulawayo City were shaken by the restructuring of their technical team but they continue to hold their own against Premiership’s big guns. They have however remained poor in the first half of matches and they get better as the game progress. In CAPS United, they meet a team in desperate need of an outright win to keep within reach of log leaders FC Platinum.
PREDICTION: CAPS United win
Border Strikers LLLWL
v
Ngezi Platinum DWWDL
Ngezi Platinum are a wounded lion after defeat in their last game. They travel to struggling Border Strikers trying to bounce back. The reality still is that since the arrival of coach Tonderai Ndiraya, Ngezi are yet to lose a match away. In the nine matches he has been in charge, the How Mine defeat was the first at home.
PREDICTION: Ngezi Platinum win
Triangle WLLWW
v
FC Platinum LWDDD
Log leaders FC Platinum have now gone for three matches without a win – just draws. Triangle on the other hand have won their last two games and they look like they are back on track in the title race. It will not be easy for Norman Mapeza’s charges to collect full points at Gibbo but the reality is that they have been doing better away from Mandava.
PREDICTION: FC Platinum will win while there is a chance Triangle could pick a point.
Mutare City DLWDD
v
Hwange WLDDD
Mutare City have been showing that they can get a result if they want. They frustrated log leaders FC Platinum in the last match, although they are in trouble for using a suspended player. In Hwange they host an unpredictable opponent who has however shown great strength in the second half of seasons.
PREDICTION: Mutare City win.
Seven players will miss Week 20 of the Castle Lager Premiership after accumulating three yellow cards.
Suspended players:
Ephraim Mwinga (Border Strikers)
Dominic Chungwa (CAPS United)
Emmanuel Mandiranga (Bulawayo City)
Sipho Ndlovu (Bulawayo City)
Simon Munawa (Highlanders)
Honest Moyo (Highlanders)
Marlvin Gaki (Triangle)
