We Need To Move On: Mapeza

Norman Mapeza believes FC Platinum needs to move on and fight hard in the last four games of the season after a disappointing 2-1 to Harare City at Rufaro stadium on Saturday.

Mapeza said his team needs faith and hope fate will favour them in the remaining matches where they are still to face rampaging Highlanders who moved into the second position after the win at Chapungu.

FC Platinum never really came to the party as they were made to chase the shadows by Harare City after being reduced to ten men just fifteen minutes into the match, Gerald Takwara getting a straight red card for rough play on Tatenda Tumba.

“It was difficult after losing Takwara in the first 15 minutes. It’s always difficult to play with a man short especially after losing our defensive midfielder. But this is football, we need to move on, we still have four more games to play.  We just need to keep working hard, have faith and leave everything in God’s hands,” said Mapeza.

“Like I have always said that in life you never know what is going to happen. You can plan for tomorrow but you never know what is going to happen, that’s why we leave everything in God’s hands and see what happens. “

Mapeza also bemoaned what he termed bad match officiating and had a mini scuffle with Harare City security after he charged at referee Philani Ncube to remonstrate.

“For the first time I have complained about the referees. I have never complained about the referees but today I am not happy about the officiating. For the first time, they were not ok for us.”

FC platinum found themselves on the back foot early in the match when Tumba’s shot deflected off Grey Kufandada to beat Petros Mhari. Harare City capitalised on numerical advantage following the expulsion of Takwara and doubled the lead in the second half through William Manondo with a well worked out goal.
