We Dont Have Any Preference: Mapeza
Norman Mapeza says FC Platinum does not care whether they face either Highlanders or Ngezi Platinum in the Chibuku Super Cup final after dismissing Harare City 3-0 in the semis on Saturday.
Bubbling with confidence after posting their second biggest victory at Mandava stadium this season after the 3-0 drubbing of Border Strikers in the league, Mapeza said the win has restored the confidence within his players.
“We are not concerned about who we are going to face in the final whether it’s either Highlanders or Ngezi Platinum. We have to look at our own display. I am happy that we have improved on our conversion rate especially here at home, managing to score three goals. It gives us confidence going into the remaining matches of the season,” said Mapeza.
A disappointed Harare City coach, Moses Chunga who was miffed early in the match by the deflation of his team’s five balls refused to speak to the media after the match.
FC Platinum romped to victory courtesy of a first half goal from Rodwell Chinyengetere before Charles Sibanda and Marshal Mudehwe cushioned the goal with second half strikes.
Ngezi Platinum and Highlanders square off in the other semi final at Barbourfields stadium tomorrow.
The winner of the Chibuku Super Cup will represent Zimbabwe in the 2017 CAF Confederations Cup.
