We Are Ready For War - Kwashi

CAPS United will remain grounded and humble despite wrestling the league championship last season, assistant coach Fungai Kwashi told the media ahead of Sunday’s clash against eternal rivals Dynamos in the Commander Zimbabwe National Army Charities semi final at the National Sports.

Highlanders host FC Platinum in the other semi final at Barbourfields and the gate charges have been pegged at $3 rest of ground.

Makepekepe won the league title last year, in a season they also beat DeMbare for the first time in a league in seven seasons but Kwashi feels there is no need to underestimate their rivals.

Kwashi, who stood in for coach Lloyd Chitembwe at a presser held at the army headquarters in the capital Harare Tuesday afternoon, also hinted that his club will field the strongest possible line up on Sunday.

“There is no friendly when we play Dynamos. It is Goliath v Goliath on Sunday but we remain humble as the soccer kings of Zimbabwe.

“They (Dynamos) will come all out to kill us and we also want to kill them. Come Sunday we will be ready for the contest,” said Kwashi.

Caps United would also want to use the match as preparations for their CAF Champions League first round first leg match against Congo DR champions TP Mazembe during the weekend of 10-12 March.

Makepekepe skipper Moses Muchenje was bullish of the tie which could prove a test for both teams.

“It will not be an easy game but we are ready for them (Dynamos). Even if we play for a small bottle matches between Makepekepe and DeMbare are always big games,” he said.

Winners of the Commander ZNA Charities final will pocket $12 000 with the runners up walking away $8 00 richer.
