We Are Now Going For The Title: Akbay

Erol Akbay bold declared that Highlanders are now charging towards the title, their first in ten years after posting a crucial win away to Chapungu.

Prince Dube scored the all important goal which pushed Highlanders into second position, just one point behind FC Platinum. Akbay said he was happy that FC Platinum faltered and will be praying also that CAPS United suffer the same fate away to Border Strikers on Sunday.

“I am very happy that FC Platinum lost. It’s very exciting for everyone in the last four games. We go for it, we go for it now, which is what I want,” said Akbay.

“It’s not going to be easy but we are going to continue pushing hard in the last games but we are really prepared for any team and hope also our rivals continue to falter.”

There was however skirmishes in the tunnel at the end of the game which left Chapungu defender William Ngonya with a deep cut on the forehead. Chapungu officials accuse Highlanders assistant coach Cosmas Zulu of striking the player after he had a misunderstanding with another  Chapungu player Patrick Khumbula as players rushed into the tunnel fleeing from jubilant Bosso fans who had invaded the pitch.
