We Are Not Worried About Perceptions: Chitembwe

CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe says he is not worried about how his team's performance in the season opener at Maglas on Sunday as his mission is not determined by a single game.

CAPS United who recently progressed into the CAF Champions league after dumping out TP Mazembe, played second fiddle to returnees Shabanie Mine  and were luck to come out with a point as the Chinda Boys missed a number of clear cut chances.

But Chitembwe says his team has always looked at a broader picture rather than concentrate on a particular game.

“What we have in mind is a mission not to look at one game. It doesn't mean that the team that wins the first game of the season wins the title or the team that lose the first match of the season gets relegated," said Chitembwe.

“Even last season people said a lot of negative things about us but we were not bothered about that because we had our own mission and we accomplished it. It's the same again this year, we have our own mission and that mission can only be accomplished in November when the season ends. "

“What I only know is that I have a group of determined players who knows what they want to achieve and are geared towards that come end of the season. Getting a point away at Maglas stadium is not bad anyway".

The Green Machine last won at Maglas stadium in 2005 and the player who scored solitary goal then, Leonard Tsipa was never given the chance to sniff at goal by the solid William Mapfumo who marshaled the defence well together with captain Nyasha Mpofu.

CAPS United's only realistic chance in the match came towards the end when Ronald Chitiyo was squared just outside the box by Joel Ngodzo and his low shot destined for the far corner was pushed out for a corner by Samuel Mafukidze.
