Warriors Move 14 Places Up

Zimbabwe moved 14 places up to 101 on the latest FIFA World Rankings released by the football governing body Thursday morning.

The Warriors are now 27th on the continent which is dominated by 2017 Afcon runners up Egypt.

Zimbabwe’s impressive 3-0 thumping of Liberia in an Afcon qualifier on June 11, pushed the Warriors up the ladder.

Egypt, Senegal, Congo DR, Tunisia and reigning African champions Cameroon make up the continent’s top five.

South Africa are now 64th, Zambia 92 and Mozambique 97th.

New FIFA Confederations Cup champions Germany have overtaken Brazil as the world’s number one, Argentina are third while Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal are now fourth.

Former world champions Spain are 11th, two places above England.
