Warriors Looking Good In Franceville

The Warriors trained twice on Friday ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations Group B opener against Algeria on Sunday, and there are no injuries to report.

While the game is being played in Franceville, the team is based in another town, Moanda, an hour's drive away.

The Warriors are sharing a hotel with Algeria, and both teams are using a small stadium adjacent to the hotel for their training sessions.

None of the teams in Group B will get a feel of the match venue before Sunday's games, as the pitch is said to be not ready yet.

Captain Willard Katsande says that the players are adjusting to the hot, humid conditions.

“We are getting there in terms of acclimatising and the guys are eager to leave their mark on the tournament,” Katsande told Sportszone.co,zw.

Franceville has a population of 110 000 and a 20 000-capacity stadium to try to fill.

Ticket prices are as low as 85 US cents to attract fans.
