Warriors Fall As Chipolopolo Rise On FIFA Rankings
THE Zimbabwe Warriors dropped four places on the latest FIFA World Rankings to position 105 and remain well behind neighbours South Africa and Zambia.
On the rankings released by the world football mother body Thursday afternoon, Zimbabwe are now ranked 27th in Africa.
The Warriors’ absence in the World Cup Qualifiers which were played last week cost the country a substantial number of points.
On the contrary, Zambia who shocked Algeria in the World Cup qualifiers rose 18 places to 78th in the world.
Chipolopolo are now ranked 16th in Africa, two places above South Africa’s Bafana Bafana who crashed to back to back defeats against Cape Verde Islands.
Egypt, Tunisia, Senegal, Congo DR and Nigeria form Africa’s top 5.
Germany replaced Brazil as the world’s number one team while Portugal are third.
Argentina and Belgium complete the top five in the world.
