Uganda Are No Pushovers: Mutamangira

Sables captain Denford Mutamangira says his senior rugby side will have to give their all on Saturday at the Police Grounds if they are to remain in the Africa Cup Group 1A – and he knows what Uganda are capable of doing.

“Uganda are very competitive, very physical and they have got big boys. They did quite well against Namibia. We are not underestimating them at all. We have always had a tough game against them no matter the score line.

“We are very positive, going into this game that’s why it is a must win and we are doing everything in our power to do that. We cannot afford to lose, everyone is confident and positive that we can beat Uganda,” said Mutamangira.

After an embarrassing 61-15 loss at the hands of Kenya a fortnight ago in their Africa Cup opener, Zimbabwe believe that the fans will be key in motivating the home side.

“To our fans we want them to come out in their numbers and support us. I know we disappointed them against Kenya but it is a combination of them and us on Saturday and together we can pull through,” said Mutamangira.
