Twine Phiri Joins Chitown
FORMER PSL boss and CAPS United director, Twine Phiri, has returned to football administration by joining the Chitungwiza Municipality Football Club executive in the Northern Region Soccer League.
Phiri’s arrival comes barely two weeks after Chitungwiza Municipality appointed seasoned coach Ralph Kawondera as their technical manager.
Sportszone understands that Chitungwiza Municipality are eager to make an impression and ultimately survive relegation in their maiden First Division appearance where they seem to be struggling two places from the basement with 11 points from 12 points.
Chitungwiza Municipality chairperson, Ranganai Gona, confirmed the roping in of Phiri into their football set up although his exact post is yet to be established.
“Twine Phiri bounces back in football at Chitown FC! (We are) still negotiating his capacity but had since agreed to be with us.
“We have finalised with him whats just left is to see which position he can take up,” he said.
Sportszone caught up with Phiri who was reluctant to comment on his Chitungwiza Municipality move.
“How did you hear of this? There is nothing like that happening. If there is anything I will call you,” he said.
