TP Mazembe In Town

Congolese giants TP Mazembe have arrived for the crucial Champions League clash with CAPS United at the National Sports Stadium set for this Sunday.

TP Mazembe arrived with a strong contingent of 115 people who included players, the technical team and supporters and were welcomed at the Harare International Airport by a vociferous band of their Zimbabwe based supporters and the Malawi chapter who made the road trip to Harare.

The Congolese side are expecting their extravagant chairman Moise Katumbi on Saturday.

Their coach Thierry Froger said they are expecting a difficult match in Zimbabwe following the frustration at home when Makepekepe forced them to a 1-1 draw in Lubumbashi.

The visitors are under pressure to win and they have hinted they would be hunting for early goals to unsettle their hosts who need at least a goalless draw to qualify to the group stage.

Froger was full of confidence as he has all the players available for the crucial tie but exercised the luxury to leave behind some of his senior players like Tresor Mputu, Joel Kimwaki and Jean Kasusula.
