Things Fall Apart For Ex DeMbare Star

IT keeps getting worse for former Dynamos star winger Russell Madamombe whose graph continues to fall by each passing season.

Since leaving DeMbare in 2014, the former Monomotapa player’s career has taken a nosedive and this week he was seen trying his luck at Northern Region Division One side Herentals.

Madamombe who at one time was regarded among the best left footed wingers in the country played for relegated Mutare City last season.

After leaving Dynamos in 2014 Madamombe joined ZPC Kariba at the beginning of the 2015 season but could not last as he was once again offloaded at the end of that year.

He turned out for Mutare City last season but could not save the Manicaland based team from relegation.

From a player whose signature caused a stampede among big clubs four seasons ago, Madamombe now finds himself having to beg for a job at Division One clubs.

“Russy (Madamombe) is with us together with other players whom we are having a look at. We feel he could add value to our team,” Herentals coach Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva said on Thursday.

Madamombe is married to former Mighty Warriors star keeper Onai Chingawo.
