The Turning Point Has Arrived For Caps United - Jere

CAPS UNITED president Farai Jere believes his team’s win against ZPC Kariba last Sunday could be a turning point for the champions who had struggled for form before the 1-0 victory.

Dominic Chungwa’s stunner ended Makepekepe’s winless streak which had stretched for four league games.

The Green Machine remains on 16th position on the 18-team table with 17 points from 14 games.

“I think I said it very clearly that a different Caps United will emerge after the closure of the local transfer window because, for some of our players whose heads had been turned by interest from other clubs after our success in the league last year and in the Champions League this year, it has dawned on them that they are here for some time,” Jere told The Herald.

“You saw the spirit was different on Sunday with everyone playing for the badge and even though we didn’t have Rooney (Chitiyo) the midfield did very well and this was a performance that our fans expect from us,” said Jere.

Caps United travel to Beitbridge on Wednesday to face winless Tsholotsho FC at Dulivhadzimo.

In other midweek fixtures giants Dynamos host Hwange at Rufaro in the second match of a double header that also features the duel between Harare City and Shabanie Mine which kicks off at 1PM.

ZPC Kariba host Highlanders at Nyamhunga while log leaders Ngezi Platinum date Yadah FC at the Baobab.
