The Green Machine Dismantles

THE departure of big goalkeeper Edmore “Zi Keeper” Sibanda for South Africa brings to seven, the number of players that have left Harare giants Caps United in the last eight months.

Sibanda who had for long been linked with a move to local side Yadah FC has been snapped up by South African National First Division side Witbank Spurs.

Spurs are seventh on the First Division log table.

The 31-year-old Sibanda’s departure came during a week Caps United also lost top striker Dominic Chungwa who is now a Polokwane City player.

Chungwa signed a three-year contract with the ABSA Premiership side.

Abbas Amidu and Ronald Chitiyo left Makepekepe in August last year, joining teams in Egypt and Tunisia respectively.

Amidu now plays for El Harby while Chitiyo is now a CS Sfaxien player.

Dribbling wizard Tafadzwa Rusike moved to Zambia last year, so did centre back Dennis Dauda who is now at Yadah FC.

Left back Ronald Pfumbidzai moved to Bloemfontein Celtic of South Africa last July.

It looks like Makepekepe coach Lloyd Chitembwe has a task on his hands as he embarks on a rebuilding exercise this offseason.

He could also gifted central midfielder Devon Chafa and skipper Moses Muchenje who are set for trials in Egypt while striker John Zhuwawo has interested Ajax Cape Town.
