Teenage Winger Tipped To Shine At Cosafa
LEGENDARY coach Sunday “Mhofu” Chidzambwa has heaped praises on Yadah FC teenage winger Leeroy Mavhunga and thinks the Marlborough High School product will shine at the Cosafa Castle Cup finals.
Chidzambwa, who will be in charge of Zimbabwe at the finals, included the 19-year-old player in the final 20-man squad for the regional tourney which kicks off in South Africa on Sunday.
“That boy will do well in South Africa I tell you. He has got everything you can ask of a player,” Chidzambwa said.
“He is intelligent, he can take on defenders at high speed and above all he can score goals.”
Mavhunga has been one of the most promising players of the season although his club has experienced a dip in form in recent weeks.
He is a left footer who can dribble and provide pin point crosses.
The Warriors leave for South Africa on Friday morning.
