Sweswe Hints On Retirement
Thomas Sweswe is contemplating retiring at the end of the 2016 season after more than a decade in football playing in Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Sweswe who is now at ZPC Kariba, played for a number of local teams including South African clubs Kaiser Chiefs and Bidvest Wits, Black Leopards and the now defunct Manning Rangers, said he has already started preparing for his retirement by enrolling for coaching badges.
“I am looking ahead to life after football because I am thinking of retiring at the end of the season. I am not yet certain but I am thinking about retiring,” said Sweswe.
“I am now focusing on coaching and I have already done level two. I will be going for CAF level C sometime this year. I will see if my legs can still carry me next year or I will be a player coach.”
Sweswe who turned 35 this month broke into the premiership with Caps United in 2001 before going on to play for Sporting Lions, Real United, Highlanders, Mwana Africa and Dynamos in between stints with South African clubs.
