Sweswe Defiant
Tsholotsho coach Lizwe Sweswe is unfazed by the club's 2-0 defeat to Dynamos on Wednesday and is still optimistic that they will survive relegation at the end of the season.
Tsholotsho who narrowly escaped the chop last season, are second from bottom with 19 points, one behind Mutare City who have a game in hand but Sweswe is adamant that his side will remain afloat.
“We are not sinking; we are here to stay in the premiership. It's a disappointment that we lost against Dynamos but we played well. We just conceded soft goals and also we feel we had a goal disallowed which could have changed the complexion of the match," said Sweswe.
“We will regroup for the next match and collect maximum points. I am impressed by the way we are playing.”
Tsholotsho pressed hard for an equaliser in the second half and Mostafa Ponyera thought he had cancelled out an earlier striker by Takunda Sadiki but the goal was ruled out for an offside by referee Masakadza Makonese.
Iziqholo Zezhwane were further deflated in the dying stages of the game when rookie Tawanda Macheke poked home from close range after being teed up by Masimba Mambare.
Tsholotsho came into the match high on confidence after knocking out Caps United out of the Chibuku Super Cup and they didn't disappoint despite conceding early in the first half.
Ocient Ncube controlled the midfield orchestrating most of Tsholotsho attacks but the visitors lacked the cutting edge in the last third.
