Sundowns Ready To Make Billiat Highest Paid Player In SA
Warriors star Khama Billiat I spoised to become the highest paid player in the South African Premier Soccer League.
Talks are ongoing between Billiat’s handlers and Sundowns who are looking to tie down the striker with a five year deal until after his 30th birthday.
Billiat who played an integral role in the club's success in 2016 still has a year left on his current contract which is set to expire at the end of next season.
The Aces youth Academy product has been linked with a European move but Downs have stood their ground and made it known that they will only entertain official interest and offers matching the player's buyout clause which is believed to be over R25 million.
However, According to KickOff.com it has been gathered that Sundowns' new contract offer is also set to make the Zimbabwean international the highest-paid player in the PSL, with the length thereof stretching five years, up to 2021.
Billiat is currently in his fourth season with Sundowns where he has won two Absa Premiership titles, as well as the Nedbank Cup, Telkom Knockout, CAF Champions League and CAF Super Cup.
Individually, the former Ajax Cape Town attacker was last year crowned PSL Footballer of the Season, Absa Premiership Player's Player of the Season and Absa Premiership Midfielder of the Season, as well as first runner-up for the CAF African-based Player of the Year for 2016.
