Silva Shown Exit Door In Zambia As Mufulira Wanderers Sink Into Relegation
Former Dynamos Coach Paulo Jorge Silva was fired on Wednesday by Zambian Super Division side Mufulira Wanderers following a string of poor results.
Mufulira Wanderers are 15th on the 18 team log with 26 points from 25 games and must win at least five of the remaining nine games to avoid the chop at the end of the season.
The Portuguese national who was axed by Dynamos in May only lasted two months in Zambia after joining the Mufulira giants in July.
Wanderers are Zambia’s most successful football club with 50 trophies and have also produced some of the country’s greatest players.
After nine years in Division I, the Wanderers returned to the Zambian Super League in 2015 and preserved their top league status with a 5th place finish.
